Nowadays, almost every top athlete needs to have their own doctor, physiotherapist or masseur at their disposal. Simply put, a team of experts who take care of the body so that it is functional and can (must) perform, often at the very edge of endurance.
Sport at the highest level places considerable demands on our bodies, not only physically but also mentally. We strive to be faster than the fastest, to jump further and higher than others, to hit our opponent faster than they can hit us, or to throw a piece of anything as far as possible.
We often overwork the human body, and if we accumulate this overwork for weeks, months or years, the body gradually but more clearly tells us that it simply cannot do it anymore. Top sport is "magical" in that the most important thing is the result and subsequently the fee that the athlete or team receives. Only then is it decided to what extent the given sport is harmful to health. And what is completely incredible and at the same time incomprehensible is the great level of aggression and hatred we can see in sports disciplines.
It is not for nothing that they say: "sports lead to permanent disability". But they also say: "everything in moderation". So it is not about hating exercise and sports, but rather about thinking about how to use them to benefit our physical and mental health.
Physiotherapy is a field that restores the human body to a balanced and functional state. Its role in sports is therefore irreplaceable, because athletes' bodies are under extraordinary pressure. However, the question is at what cost we try to keep athletes on a winning streak.
You might be wondering what this has to do with us mere mortals? But just think about our daily peak performance in the form of taking care of our family, spending time at work, where we often change body position and straighten our spine on the fingers of one hand. And when we add to that the thoughts that unconsciously put us into tension and stress, we are essentially running a marathon at a sprint pace.
Our goal at SPINEZIO is not for you to be dependent on a physiotherapist, but for you to be able to help yourself from body tension permanently, and have enough energy to make life not a race, but a joy.
